Chambers Institute seeks to offer students a quality education experience to prepare them for their future studies and career prospects. Our academic standards, facilities and support services help to ensure that students attending the Institute will not only achieve academic success, but also improve their cultural awareness and social skills.



The Institute offers its students an excellent study environment, provided by highly experienced and dedicated staff. It is known for the diverse cultural mix in the student demographics – we have over 30 different nationalities from Asian, European, and Latin American background, providing students with an opportunity to make friends with people across the globe.



The curriculum at Chambers Institute is developed to conform to the highest standard of Australian education quality. Our program is accredited by National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS). At Chambers Institute, students are encouraged to further their learning beyond the classroom environment by visiting cultural places, interacting with local Australian students, and participating in social activities which help them to improve their communication skills.

Our Student Support Service officers help students make their learning experience at Chambers Institute as productive as possible. Our staff are dedicated to help students adjust to their first few months of arriving in Australia, and to their new environment and academic workload. LEARNING RESOURCES AND STUDY AREA

We have a dedicated resource room which provides individual and group study spaces. There are computers available to students in the resource room and computer lab. They are equipped with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other relevant softwares. All students have access to email and the internet.

Students can also use their laptops to access the wireless internet on campus. There are ample power points provided as well as facilities to recharge your laptop in a secure environment. Printing and photocopying services are also available.

ORIENTATION SESSION

On their first day at Chambers Institute, students have to attend an orientation session. The orientation presentation contains information covering all aspects of the enrolled course and living in Melbourne. A welcome package will also be handed to the students.

기후조건 서안 해양성 기후(Cfb)로 분류되지만, 날씨가 변하기 쉽다. 겨울에는 호주의 주도 중에서 가장 춥지만, 눈이 내리는 경우는 드물다.

2006년에는 관측 사상 최악의 가뭄에 시달렸다. 평소라면 년간 비교적 강수량이 많은 9월, 10월에 전혀 비가 내리지 않았다.

2009년 2월 7일에는 관측 사상 최고 기온 46.4℃를 관측했다. 이는 평년보다 약 20 ℃ 높은 것이었다.

General English (GE)

WHAT IS THIS COURSE ABOUT?
This course helps students to develop fluency and confidence in dealing with everyday situations.
It is flexible and can cater to the individual academic needs of students.
We give students the opportunity to use English in meaningful tasks through interactions with classmates and teachers.
Listening, reading, writing and speaking are developed through various engaging tasks and activities.
A wide range of resources including textbooks, authentic texts, audio and audio-visual materials are used.
Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation tasks are tailored according to students’ needs at each level of proficiency.
We encourage students to learn Australian culture firsthand through exposure to the local culture and cultural events.

AT THE END OF THIS COURSE
Student’ progress is regularly monitored by teachers.
Successful learners usually progress to the next level of proficiency after 12 weeks of the course.
We strongly encourage students to take responsibility for reviewing the lessons covered in class and to ask for help from their teachers at any time.
The General English course is topic-based which helps make learning more interactive and practical to everyday situations.
By the end of this course, successful students will have improved their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
Who is this course for ?
Designed to provide English language skills for students wishing to advance to further academic study.
For students who wish to study English at a more challenging level, with the completion of the General English course.
This course is for International Students who wish to pursue academic goals for further study in Australia.

What is this course about ?
This course helps students to improve writing, develop skills in critical thinking, participate in academic discussions and present their ideas at presentations.
It helps students to gain new experience as independent learners.
EAP students will follow a thoroughly designed syllabus which covers the key skills of speaking, reading and listening, with a significant emphasis on writing.
Students will participate in lecture listening, note taking, research projects, individual and group oral presentations, independent learning – all in an academic environment.

At the end of this course
At the end of the course, successful students will have learned and practiced how to write academic essays, summaries and undertake academic research.
Further developed reading skills to increase speed and comprehension.
Communicated in a variety of academic situations.

IELTS Preparation Course
Who is this course for ?
For those who want to improve their skills to achieve their target IELTS score
For students who wish to develop their competencies in Writing & Speaking
For students of an Intermediate level of English competency or higher

What is this course about?
This program will help students develop fluency and confidence in attempting the writing and speaking elements of an IELTS test.
Overcome pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar problems related to speaking.
Learn the structure of IELTS writing tasks and problem solving errors.

At the end of this course
At the end of this course, successful students will have developed their competencies in writing and speaking.
They will have improved their skills to achieve their target IELTS score.
Students will improve their confidence in undertaking an IELTS examination test.
Certificate IV in Business
Who is this course for ?
This course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to undertake administrative work across all industries, such as developing work priorities, coordinating customer service strategies, ensuring a safe workplace and producing complex business documents.
Designed for international students who will be involved in training in a full time capacity within the classroom and simulated work environment

Learning Outcomes
This qualification aims to equip participants with some business, managerial, marketing and human resource management skills.
Graduates may pursue a business career in a public or private sector, in roles as an administrator, a project officer, or a business owner

Assessment Summary
As this is a competency based program, assessment continues throughout the program until the participant either achieves competency in the assessment tasks or a further training need is identified and addressed.
Participants will be advised of the assessment requirements at the beginning of each unit.
Assessment results recognise student achievement against each competency.
Assessment is both formative and summative and a holistic approach has been applied where possible.
Diploma of Business
Course Description
This course is designed for those who are keen to progress their careers as effective business managers, supervisors and team leaders in diverse industries.
It is designed for international students who will be involved in training in a full time capacity within the classroom and simulated work (where applicable) environment.
This qualification aims to equip participants with business, managerial, marketing and human resource management skills.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be able to manage all aspects of business.
Graduates will be able to manage administration, marketing and human resources.
They will also know how to manage programs that promote personal effectiveness.
Graduates will manage and report on projects successfully, whilst knowing how to manage risk within the business

Pathways for Students
Participants are provided with advice on career development and training options throughout the delivery of the program.
Students who have completed the Diploma of Business at Chambers Institute will be guaranteed an entry into Australian Catholic University (ACU) Bachelor of Business Administration.
The Diploma of Business gives up to 50-Credit Points transfer into the Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (BBA) at ACU.
