Peddie 로봇공학팀, FIRST 챔피언십에서 부문 결승진출!
2024년 휴스턴에서 개최한 FIRST 로봇공학 선수권 대회에서 Peddie 로봇공학팀 5895가 부문 결승진출을 이뤘습니다.
이번 대회 여정은 FIRST 미드-애틀랜틱 지구 선수권 대회 (중대서양 챔피언십)에서의 3연속 우승으로 시작된 그들의 헌신과 노력을 증명했습니다.
팀은 헤드 코치 스콧 메레디스와 교사 멘토 케빈 브라운, 그레고리 콕, 임아드 라반의 지도 아래, 세계 각국의 600개 팀과의 경쟁에서 자신들의 한계를 뛰어넘고 실력을 증명하기 위해 결의를 다졌습니다.
올해의 도전인 "CRESCENDO"로 명명된 이번 대회에서 팀은 무대에서 스피커를 증폭시켜 음향을 내고 음표를 연주하여 점수를 획득할 수 있는 120파운드의 로봇을 설계, 제작 및 코딩했습니다.
이 로봇은 "잊지 않는 자"로 불리는 일본의 신비한 새 모습의 캐릭터인 이츠마데의 이름을 따서 명명되었습니다.
FIRST 로봇공학 대회(FRC)는 28개 국가에서 3,700개 이상의 팀이 참가하는 국제 로봇공학 대회입니다.
FIRST는 실제 산업 응용에 중점을 두며, Peddie 학생들은 이 대회를 통해 동료와 경험 많은 멘토들과의 협업의 중요성을 강조하는 공학, 프로그래밍 및 재무/마케팅 기술을 배웠습니다.
ROBOTICS TEAM SHINES AS DIVISION FINALISTS AT FIRST CHAMPIONSHIPS
Peddie Robotics Team 5895 emerged as Division Finalists at the 2024 FIRST Robotics Championships in Houston. The team’s journey to Houston was a testament to their dedication and hard work, which began with a triumphant victory at the FIRST Mid-Atlantic District Championships for the third consecutive year. Under the mentorship of Head Coach Scott Meredith and faculty mentors Kevin Brown, Gregory Koch and Imad Labban, the team entered the championships determined to push their limits and demonstrate their prowess against 600 teams from around the world.
For this year's challenge, dubbed “CRESCENDO,” the team designed, fabricated and coded a 120-lb. robot capable of scoring points by amplifying speakers and playing notes onstage. The robot is named “Itsumade” after the mystical Japanese bird-like creature, symbolizing perseverance.
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international robotics competition with over 3,700 teams across 28 countries. Through FIRST’s emphasis on real-world applications, Peddie students gain invaluable engineering, programming and finance/marketing skills, underlining the importance of collaboration with peers and experienced mentors.
